Abstract

Due to the unprecedented acceleration of the business world today, digital transformation has become a crucial step for organizations to maintain competitiveness and achieve growth, success, and excellence in their operations. This research aims to investigate the impact of digital transformation on operational excellence within the Ministry of Communications. The Ministry\'s adoption of digital transformation technologies—automation, big data analytics, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things—will lead to improvements in operational excellence indicators by eliminating waste, facilitating informed decision-making, enhancing service quality, and increasing flexibility. The sample consisted of employees at the Iraqi Ministry of Communications headquarters. Data was collected through a questionnaire; the researcher distributed 130 questionnaires, of which 121 were valid for analysis. The analytical approach was adopted, and data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Statistical methods were employed, including the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and simple coefficient of determination. Among the research findings was a positive correlation: adopting digital transformation plays a significant role in achieving operational excellence for the research organization. Furthermore, the ministry\'s senior management possesses a clear strategic direction and a high level of awareness regarding digital transformation.
