The Economic Impact of Iraq s Member ship in the WTO on Industry and the Economy

The issue of Iraq’s membership in the World Trade Organization (WTO) has been subject for discussions and dialogue for sometime.
The paper aims to analyse the effects of Iraqi membership in the (WTO) on the Iraqi industry and economy in order to judge as to whether this membership is beneficial or not. It discusses the positive as well as the negative effects of membership on Iraq, then a presentation of the two conflicting points of view on joining the (WTO) is curried out.
After giving a general evaluation to the whole issue the paper ends with the major conclusions and recommendations in order to minimize the losses incurred from joining the organization.
